Baker Avenue’s Beautiful New Buildout

July 26th, 2011 By: Doug Hahn

We’re proud to announce that our newest tenant, Baker Avenue, has had its buildout featured in a variety of magazines and blogs.

The investment firm’s modus operandi, “this isn’t your grandfather’s investment firm,” was taken to heart by designers: the space amalgamates the traditional and historic beauty of the Bently Reserve with a preference for an open-air and transparent work aesthetic.

SmithGroup, a well-known architectural firm and current tenant of building, created a design that embraces the Bently Reserve’s historic features, while reflecting Baker’s preference for a contemporary, Zen-inspired aesthetic favoring transparency. dTank was enlisted as a cost-effective source, letting the design team craft workstations, reception stations and the furniture for private offices.

Baker Avenue has said that “it is the perfect dichotomy of old versus new — a good representation of the business we try to run.”

The Baker Avenue project is slated for LEED-CI Gold and recently received an IIDa northern California Chapter award in the small workplace category.
