Prop 8 Has Been Overturned During a Press Release at the Bently Reserve

August 4th, 2010 By: Doug Hahn

A federal judge in San Francisco has handed victory to the opponents of Proposition 8, California’s voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, saying it violates the U.S. Constitution.

The judge’s decision was officially announced by the plaintiff couples today at our very own Bently Reserve — a venue well-known for some of the city’s highest-profile weddings. The Bently Reserve made an ideal place for the announcement to be made — not only for its reputation as a wedding venue, but because we have always been strong supporters of the right to marry for all citizens, regardless of lifestyle choice.

We’re absolutely thrilled that the right to marry has taken such a huge step forward today! You can also check out the crowd’s initial reaction over on Youtube.
